Welcome to dayakwanderer.com

I go by that name due to the fact that the Dayak Ibans of Borneo have a rites of passage called the “bejalai” which translate into wander. This “bejalai” or wandering is a journey or expedition undertaken by the Iban men with the intent of acquiring material profit or social prestige. As for my case, just like most of us that have this “bejalai” urge in us, is to seek and find oneself.
This blog is intended to share my “bejalai” experiences, especially around Sarawak, places around Borneo and other places that I have wandered.
It is here also that I intend to give my honest reviews and recommendations on the experiences of the places that I have visited.
I hope that the sounds and sights that I share with you would give you some sense of curiosity that shall trigger that desire for you to travel to Sarawak. If you are of course from Sarawak, then hopefully it will inspire you to travel and discover this beautiful land of ours that we call home.
This dayak wanderer will continue to share his travel experiences here in Borneo and in time to come, his journeys abroad.
