About me – Part 2 

Born in Kuching some 43 years ago, I am very fortunate that during my childhood, I moved around a lot all over Sarawak. My dad worked in a plantation company and that saw us moving between estates in Miri and Kuching.

Of all the places that I grew up in Sarawak, I loved Miri most. As a boy growing up in one of the plantations I was blessed to be taught the art of being a true Iban boy. Going out bird trapping, fishing and of course playing war games with my other buddies. This would be routine for me and it would be almost immediately after school.

With all that going on, that experience forged and molded me into being a jungle boy. I guess that’s why I’m smiling ear to ear everytime the office sends me out to try a certain experience in the jungle.

All these trips have given me the opportunity to interact with other people from different cultures. Kayan, Lun Bawang, Kelabit, Berawan, Kiput, Penan, Bidayuh, Melanau and many others that I would probably bore you to death if I’d list them all down.

All of them have stories to tell. Interesting stories of their place that they so proudly share with visitors. They would tell you who they are, where they come from and so forth.

They are the very essence that make the destination interesting. I honestly and truly believe that they are the ones that make the place beautiful.

Pittacus Lore is absolutely spot on when he said ” A place is only as good the people you know in it. It’s the people that make the place ”

With that, I truly look forward to share with you the stories and moments that I’ve encountered in Sarawak.
